Carbon Partnership is also involved in a number of other projects at various stages in development. These include the following:

NZ Climate Change Projects Database

Client: Landcare Research Ltd

Description: The development of a national climate change projects database that contains region by region information on climate change related projects undertaken by community organizations, local government, and business groups. The first phase of this project involved designing the database, undertaking the necessary research to populate the database, and developing a prototype for an interactive online version of the database.

 Climate Change and Food Security

Client: Institute of Policy Studies, Victoria University of Wellington

Description: This involved the preparation of a detailed briefing paper for the Climate Change Policy Round Table hosted by the Institute of Policy Studies.  The topic focused on the current state of global food security and its connection to climate change and climate change policy. Of particular concern in this briefing paper was the impact of biofuels development on global food security. A copy of the paper can be downloaded here.

 Policy Implications of Recent Discoveries by ANZICE

Client: ANZICE - Antarctic-New Zealand Interglacial Climate Extremes, Victoria University of Wellington.

Description: This project involves the synthesis of scientific results and interpreting the policy implications of the most recent research findings of the ANZICE program.

Climate Change and the Wellington City Long Term Community Council Plan

Client: Wellington City Council

Description: This involved preparing a draft paper on climate change planning prioirities for Wellington City, for the Wellington City Council in preparation for its Long Term Community Council Plan (LTCCP).

NZ Forest Carbon and Climate Change Policy Briefing

Client: Cement and Concrete Association of New Zealand

Description: Clarifying forests and climate change policy in New Zealand with a particular emphasis on carbon cycle dynamics and carbon accounting in forest systems.

Community Development Policy - West Coast Forests (NZ)

Description: Designed the community regional development framework that formed an integral component of the resolution of the West Coast forests controversy in the late 1990s. The incoming government in 1999 adopted this policy framework resulting in central government providing $135 million in development funding to the West Coast community, in exchange for the protection of 130,000 ha of indigenous forests. This work was undertaken when employed by Native Forest Action Inc.
